Burglar arrested
News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office.  “On 12/3/13 at 1353 hours the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call of a burglary that had just occurred at a residence on Remote Lane, in the Community of Remote, on Hwy 42 east of Myrtle Point.  The victim of the burglary was able to give a vehicle and suspect description that was passed on to deputies responding to the call.  At 1400 hours the Coos County Sheriff’s Office observed a vehicle matching the description and stopped a black 2006 Mazda four door sedan on Hwy 42 near Dillard Road just east of Coquille.  Deputies were assisted by Coquille Police.  Deputies contacted the operator and only occupant in the vehicle, Steven B. Searle, 28 YOA, of Selma, Oregon.  Deputies located property from the burglary in Remote in Mr. Searle’s possession and in addition located stolen property from two other crimes of Unlawful Entry into a Motor Vehicle, cases that were reported in Coos County that occurred in late November.   Even more stolen property was identified in the vehicle from thefts that had been reported in Grants Pass, Oregon and Crescent City, California.  Mr. Searle was arrested without incident on the charges of Burglary I, Theft II and transported to the Coos County Jail and lodged.  The investigation is continuing and possible additional charges are pending.
