CCSO release – On May 20th K-9 Odin from the Coos County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene to conduct a track. The track began at 10:32 pm and continued till 12:10 am through the hilly and forested terrain. After the lengthy K-9 Track, two suspects were taken into custody and identified as Ronnie T. Meyer 26 YOA from Douglas County and Justice C. Austin 28 YOA also from Douglas County. 2018 the Coos County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Odin assisted the Coquille Police Department with an apprehension. At approximately 9:39 P.M. a Coquille Police Officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop of a vehicle near the City of Coquille. The vehicle failed to stop and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The pursuit traveled over North Bank, to Hwy 101, to Bandon and then onto Hwy 42 S. Ultimately, the vehicle stopped on Lampa Lane near mile post 11. Two occupants from the vehicle fled from the location on foot, going behind a locked gate, onto a logging road. According to booking records Mr. Meyer was charged with eluding by vehicle, eluding by foot, reckless driving, and outstanding warrants. He remains in custody with a bail set at $50,000. The passenger, Mrs. Austin was charged with criminal trespass and also arrested on outstanding warrants out of Douglas County. She was released after a night in jail with no local charges filed by the District Attorney and referred back to the Douglas County Circuit Court on her warrant.
