Coquille Tribal Fund Offers Grants, Aug. 17

The application process will begin soon for nonprofit organizations and government agencies seeking 2017 grants from the Coquille Tribal Community Fund. The process begins with each prospective grantee submitting a Letter of Inquiry between Sept. 1 and Oct. 31. Organizations whose initial letters are approved will be invited to submit full applications. Completed applications will be due Nov. 30. As the South Coast’s largest supporter of nonprofit groups, the Coquille Tribal Community Fund has awarded more than $5.5 million since 2001. In 2016, 96 organizations collected $400,000 for projects involving education, health, public safety, environmental issues, arts, culture and historic preservation. The Community Fund reflects the Coquille Indian Tribe’s commitment to a proactive, positive role in community well-being. Supported by a percentage of revenue from The Mill Casino-Hotel, the fund serves nonprofits in Coos, Curry, Lane, Douglas and Jackson counties, as well as government-affiliated programs in Coos County. A board of community leaders and tribal representatives manages the fund. Applicants can learn more about the fund and begin the application process at www.coquilletribalfund.org.
