The Coquille Valley Farmers Market opened Saturday April 5, 2014 under misty skies at the new site on Mill Street off Highway 42 at the light. The healthy tomato plants were a hopeful sign of spring. The colorful fresh chicken eggs, along with goose, duck, and quail reminded us that Easter was on its way. There was a variety of animals, from chicks to goats. The market, clearly visible from Highway 42, drew many new customers and regulars. The second week more than doubled our vendors and customers. The numerous new bright yellow Farmer Market signs lined Highway 42 in both directions from the light. This is truly going to be a destination event this summer. Come have some BBQ and enjoy what our vendors have to offer. The market will go through October 25 or November 1, 2014 depending on the weather. The hours will be 9 am to whenever. The market is looking for vendors. Please contact: Coquille Valley Sentinel staff at 541-396-3191 Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm. REMEMBER: NEW DAY – SATURDAY, NEW TIME – 9 AM TO WHENEVER, NEW SITE – MILL STREET AND HIGHWAY 42.
