Countywide Response to Homelessness Launches with Feedback Opportunities, March 6

City of Coos Bay release – As part of HB 4123, Coos County and the Cities of Coos Bay and North Bend have received a $1 million grant from the State of Oregon to strengthen the county’s response to homelessness. This pilot project intends to support coordination, accessing additional resources, and creating a better system for residents experiencing homelessness to access services. The partner agencies have contracted Rural Development Initiatives (RDI) to work with stakeholders to understand how our community can respond better to the housing crisis affecting our neighbors through interviews, surveys, and meetings. This process will inform a five-year strategic continuum of care (CoC) plan. By May 2023, the plan must be completed and adopted by the three partner agencies in order to allocate $1 million dollars in grant funding.
