COVID-19 Testing in Coos County, Aug. 16

CHW release – With current COVID cases continuing to rise and the delta variant driving most Oregon cases at this time, it is more important than ever to take precautions to prevent COVID infections. The most effective precautions against COVID that we currently have is to receive your COVID-19 vaccine and wear your mask. While vaccines alone may not prevent you from getting COVID at all, it is shown to reduce the severity of the symptoms and limit hospitalizations or COVID related deaths. In Coos County, 87.5 percent of the cases have been in un-vaccinated persons. If you have been exposed to someone who has COVID-19 or if you are symptomatic and need to be tested for COVID-19, please contact your primary care physician first if possible. Our testing sites are working hard to test as many as possible but, due to very high demand there may be extended wait times. Please see the list of testing sites for assistance in seeking a test when it is needed.
