ODOT release – CAPE PERPETUA – Emergency road repairs begin Wednesday, Feb. 10, 8 a.m. on U.S. 101 at milepost 170.5, 2.5 miles south of Cape Perpetua. A retaining wall is failing, causing a crack in the road that has continued to grow as the ground shifts. Expect single lane travel through the area 24 hours a day for about 12 days. Flaggers will control traffic. Crews will trench between the road and wall to shore up the road by micropiling. Rebar will be set in bedrock and then surrounded by concrete to build support along 120 feet of the road. Travelers in the area should expect up to 20 minute delays. The lane will remained closed through the holiday weekend. Where traffic is routed through or around a work zone, pedestrians, including those with disabilities, will also be provided routes through or around the work zone.
