Criminal Trespass & Resisting, June 29

News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. On June 25, 2015 The Coos County Sheriff’s Office was called to 93705 Newport Lane in the Bunkerhill area of Coos Bay. This is the location of the South Coast Compassion Coalition, a medical marijuana dispensary. The employee of the business reported a suspicious and possibly mentally unstable person being in the business. Upon the deputy’s arrival he confirmed the unwanted status of the subject, identified as Benjamin Mikes, and escorted him from the building with the assistance of security employees. Within about an hour, the dispensary called again, reporting Mr. Mikes had still not left the property. The first deputy on scene confirmed with employees that they wanted him arrested for the trespass. As the deputy, again with the assistance of dispensary security, tried to take Mr. Mikes into custody, Mr. Mikes began to pull away and struggle with the arresting deputy. Another deputy arrived and the three of them took Mr. Mikes into custody. Benjamin Mikes was taken to the Coos County Jail where he was booked for Criminal Trespass in the Second degree, and Resisting Arrest. He was held on $12,500 bail.
