Critical Injuries on Hwy. 97, Aug. 13

On August 8, 2015 at approximately 8:00am three people were critically and seriously injured on Hwy 97 near milepost 147. According to Trooper Brannin, a Ford Explorer, driven by Richard Rose (age 19) from Bend, was traveling southbound on Hwy 97. The Ford Explorer crossed over the center line and struck a dodge pick-up, driven by Terry Neil (age 60) from Sunriver, head-on. All occupants were transported, with critical and/or serious injuries, to St. Charles Medical Center. Mr. Rose and his passenger were transported via Air and Mr. Neil by ground. Airbags deployed in both vehicle but seatbelt usage is unknown. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
