The annual prep crossover basketball tourneys between 4A schools in District 4 and the Skyline Conference Friday and Saturday in Coos Bay was won by the Skyline Conference. On the first day at Marshfield, only Junction City prevailed over one of the Skyline teams beating Phoenix 42-37. Marshfield fell in the nightcap game 61-43 to Henley. On Saturday at North Bend HS & MS, District 4 picked up three wins including the Pirates’ (8-4) 75-70 win over Klamath Union. Siuslaw beat Mazama earlier in the day at NBMS 52-43, and Marist Catholic downed Henley 40-34 at NBHS. Marshfield’s girls were one of two District 4 teams to win Friday at the Crossover Tourney at Phoenix High School. The Lady Pirates downed Klamath Union 37-33, while Cottage Grove beat Henley 46-25. On Saturday, it was a Skyline sweep. Marshfield (4-9) lost to Mazama 43-27. The two leagues head to conference games this week. Marshfield opens District 4 play at Junction City Friday, Jan. 17.
