Crutchfield to Astoria, March 13

Former Coos Bay Fire Dept. volunteer Dan Crutchfield has climbed the profession career ladder to the newly appointed position as Fire Chief of Astoria, Oregon.  Crutchfield began his career in the Bay Area in May of 1993.  He progressed through the department transitioning first from a volunteer to full time firefighter.  He went on to earn his degree in Applied Science & Fire Science with a Bachelors of Science in Fire Administration.  He achieved the status of Battalion Chief with the department in 2013  Crutchfield has also been serving as the department’s Emergency Medical Technician-Intermediate, a Hazardous Materials Specialist, and Instructor with a Fire Officer IV ranking.  Crutchfield, honored with an appreciation plaque from the City, served his last tour March 10-11 before leaving for the North Oregon Coast.
