Curry County’s commissioners plan to request an emergency declaration from Oregon’s governor when the three-member board convenes for a weekly session today in Gold Beach. The furthest south county on the Coast was hit hard by a Pacific Storm Saturday, Oct. 25. Winds at Cape Blanco, just north of Port Orford, were reported in excess of 90 miles an hour. Large ocean waves also wrecked havoc on the small fishing village’s dock where a temporary evacuation was ordered.
