The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality has issued a penalty totaling $25,000 to William John Goergen for allowing a significant amount of soil and dirt used for a road improvement project to wash into the creek which runs through his property located on Hall Way Road in Brookings, Ore. The creek discharges into the Port of Brookings Harbor Boat Basin.
