The City of Coos Bay has contracted with Patrick Myers’ Tree Service for the removal of a dangerous tree in Mingus Park located near the picnic shelter. On May 19th, a certified arborist assessed the tree and determined it was infested with turpentine beetles, in poor health, and would be a continually increasing safety hazard. Patrick Myers’ Tree Service is scheduled to begin work on Tuesday, September 29th at 7:00 a.m. The removal of the tree will require the use of heavy equipment, so please use caution in the work area.
