U.S. Representative Peter De Fazio (D-OR) has announced in a letter to campaign supporters for re-election to the Fourth District of Oregon, that he opposes the proposed Jordan Cove Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) export terminal project on Coos Bay’s North Spit. The Springfield Democrat, and former Lane County Commissioner, had not previously taken a stance on Jordan Cove. However, he also admits his office cannot stop it from moving forward. While the project awaits federal approval, the State of Oregon still has its permit process.
