According to one of the weather monitoring stations around the Bay Area, for Monday, Dec. 1, 3.2-inches of rain fell in a 24-hour period. The airport at North Bend showed 2.83 inches. The continual rainfall overfilled storm drains in the cities, where some, near bottom of hills, actually had runoff water coming up out of them. City crews worked to keep the storm drains clean, but flooding was reported in some areas, such as Lighthouse Deli at Fulton Ave. and Cape Arago Hwy. in Coos Bay. According to an entry on the police logs, a nearby creek flooded sending water into the store. A slide was also reported at the south Coos Bay city limits on Hwy. 101. A 90-year old female was rescued after her car got stuck in high water in North Bend.
