Public Notice – Information Meeting DEQ information meetings set for Jordan Cove 401 water quality certification On Dec. 30, the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality announced a series of information meetings to discuss the 401 water quality certification process for the Jordan Cove Energy Project LNG terminal and pipeline. The public is invited to ask questions about DEQ’s role in drafting a 401 water quality certification for the project. Also in attendance will be the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the Department of Land Conservation and Development. Staff from all agencies will be available to answer process – related questions. Because construction and operation of the proposed Jordan Cove Energy LNG terminal and pipeline project may result in the discharge of pollution into the waters of the state, DEQ is reviewing the project for a 401 water quality certification to ensure that the proposed project meets state water quality standards.
