Coos Bay’s Public Works Dept. set up a detour Friday afternoon, Feb. 6, due to high water on Hwy. 101 in the downtown area. Northbound vehicles were detoured onto Ingersoll Ave. and then right onto 2nd Street. Motorists were then routed back to Hwy. 101. High tide caused the flooding and it peaked at 1 p.m. The detour remained in place until 2 to 3 p.m. when the water receded from the roadway.
