Part of City Administrator David Milliron’s report to the City Council April 12, 2022. “The Urban Renewal Agency of North Bend recently approved a Façade Improvement Grant of $25,000 to William and Stephane Sario, owners of 2051 Sherman Avenue (aka Simpkins Music, Yesteryear Books, Moose Lodge, or The Gown Shop) in historic downtown. The building is being leased to The Devereux Center, which plans to open an upscale thrift store and vocational training center in the space. The grant will assist the property owners in renovating the façade to look similar to how it was when originally built, with windows along the top and wood siding including some very old-looking wood corbels found inside the building. The Devereux Center hopes to open this summer and is preparing to begin installation of the interior finishes.”
