The Allegany Volunteer Emergency Response Team (A.V.E.R.T.) is hosting a Disaster Preparedness Fair on Saturday, March 1 from noon to 4 PM at the Allegany Community Center, 10361 Hwy. 241, Coos Bay. Speakers and displays will inform participants how to prepare disaster kits, communicate in a crisis, wildfire prevention, earthquake/tsunami impacts, water conservation & purification, power generation, historical Allegany disasters, C.E.R.T. training, building a food supply, and survival skills. The entire family is welcome. Refreshments will be provided.
