North Bend placed sixth at the 5A District 2 Wrestling Championships at Thurston High School in Springfield Saturday. Thurston took first and Crater was second. Junior Reggie Watson had a bye then lost at 106 lbs. Freshman Kevin Garcia lost both of his matches at 113 lbs. Freshman Taylor Hays won his first match, but dropped the next two at 113 lbs. Junior Ethan Ingram had a bye in the first round won his second match but lost in the semi-finals, and fell in the playoff for fourth place at 120 lbs. Soph. Derek Bell lost in the first round, received a bye and then lost in the consolation brackets at 126 lbs. Freshman Timothy Sarnecky won his first round match, but dropped the next two at 132 lbs. Freshman Jeffrey Sarnecky got bye in the first round, but lost in the quarter-finals at 138 lbs. Sophomore Tristan Stinson won his opener, but dropped the next two at 152 lbs. Freshman Chance Kimball won his first round match and then lost the next two at 160 lbs. Junior Jaron Hyatt had a bye in the opener, lost in the quarter-finals, won a quarter-final consolation match, but lost in the semi-finals at 170 lbs. Freshman Lucas Kougloulis lost in the first round, got a bye in the consolation bracket, but lost in the quarter-finals at 170 lbs. Freshman Neal Walker lost in the first round, got a bye in the consolation bracket, then won two matches before losing in the consolation semi-finals at 195 lbs. Sophomore Gabe Pollin won his first two matches but fell in the semi-finals and then the playoff for fourth place. Junior Gabriel Foltz had a bye in the first round, won his second match, but lost in the semi-finals before winning fourth place at 285 lbs. State wrestling championships are this weekend in Portland.
