On Saturday, August 26, 2017, at 1:00 pm, Douglas County 911 received a call from a male who reported finding a vehicle over a steep embankment near the top of Mount Reuben Road in Glendale. The caller stated he had observed indications that a vehicle had gone over the embankment. He began investigating and found the vehicle. He believed the occupant inside of the vehicle was deceased. Emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene and found the 2017 Subaru Outback approximately 1/4 mile over the embankment with a deceased adult male driver inside. The male was identified as 35 year-old Angus Leslie Graham of Carbondale, Colorado. Due to the complexity of the recovery and out of concern for responder safety, a recovery effort was postponed until Sunday morning when sufficient personnel and equipment would be available. On Sunday, August 27, 2017, members of the Douglas County Search and Rescue’s Mountain Rescue were able to safely recover Graham’s body from the vehicle. He was wearing his safety belt at the time of the crash. Next of kin has been notified.
