On Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at 9:39 am, the Douglas County 911 Center received a report of a single vehicle crash on Lookingglass Road near Nandy Drive in Roseburg. The caller reported the vehicle was on fire. Lookingglass Fire Department and deputies responded to the scene. The vehicle was located off of the roadway, into a dry creek bed. The vehicle was fully involved upon arrival of responding units. Once the fire was extinguished at approximately 9:54 am, the body of the deceased driver was located inside. The Douglas County Medical Examiner’s Office is conducting an investigation into the identity of the driver and will then make next of kin notification.
