Douglas Co. Stabbing, Oct. 10

On Thursday, October 06, 2016, around 2305 hours, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a subject that was stabbed in the neck, at the Boar’s Head Tavern. It was reported that 36 year old Anton Berard, of Riddle, became involved in a verbal altercation with an unidentified male, and during the altercation, he was stabbed in the neck. The unidentified male fled the area and has not been located. Anton Berard was transported to Mercy Medical Center, where he was treated and released a short time later. The investigation indicates that the male who stabbed Berard had just recently come to Oregon. Both Berard and the suspect were living at the same apartment complex, which is located above the Boar’s Head tavern. It is believed Berard and the suspect only have a passing acquaintance with each other. The suspect was last seen wearing khaki shorts and a white tank top. Suspect was described as a white male adult, about 5’09” with a medium build. He was reported to be heavily covered in tattoos.
