That’s a headline that surely grabs one’s attention. However, it is not the type of “drive-by” we hear, read and see so much about in the news. No, this is in reference to a movie and the “shooting” of one scene for an Amazon Studios feature film titled “Somebody I Used To Know.” The scene involves a family wedding party as they drive to a hotel. The afternoon shooting on Tuesday began at Hwy. 101, looped down Laneda Ave., up Ocean Rd. and then back up Nehalem Rd. to Hwy. 101. All of that involved getting city council approval for a picture bus, with 15 extras on board, one camera vehicle, two to three support vans, another van with adjustment equipment and a law enforcement escort. After the scene was shot, the crew headed north to Gearhart for more scene filming.
