News release from Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. On 5-7-16 at 0959 hours the Coos County Sheriff’s Office was alerted to the location of a wanted subject. Deputies responded to Hwy 42 west of Coquille and located a black, 2005, Acura 4 door. It was alleged the wanted subject later identified as Michael J. Weathers 34 YOA of Coos Bay was a passenger in the automobile. Mr. Weathers had multiple valid felony warrants. Deputies stopped the automobile near Central and Hemlock in Coquille. As a result Deputies located Mr. Weathers and he was taken into custody without incident. While at the location at the request of the Sheriff’s Office the Coos Bay Police Department responded with their drug detection K9 “Katie”. A subsequent search of the vehicle was completed; during the search heroin, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and over $4,500.00 in U.S. Currency were seized from the vehicle. Two additional persons in the car will be referred to the Coos County District Attorney’s Office for drug charges.
