Head coach Matt Ulmer has announced the Oregon volleyball team’s schedule for the upcoming 2019 season. Coming off a run to the 2018 NCAA Elite Eight, the Ducks will play a strong nonconference schedule headlined by matches against powerhouses Minnesota and Penn State in University Park, Pa., before going through the gauntlet of the Pac-12 Conference. Oregon will play 12 home matches at Matthew Knight Arena – beginning on Aug. 30 with the season opener against UC Irvine – and will have 16 contests broadcast on Pac-12 Networks, as well as one on ESPN2. “We are excited to open up at home in front of our fans,” said Ulmer. “We will get tested right away and are prepared for an east coast trip that has us competing against some of the best teams outside of the Pac-12. We play at Pittsburgh week three, which is where the Final Four is. Our goal is to return in December. “Our nonconference schedule has a lot of quality opponents that can put us in position to be prepared for both conference and postseason. Conference play will be as tough as ever this year and we look forward to competing at Matthew Knight Arena.”
