A two-week search for a new Defensive Coordinator for the University of Oregon football team ended with the announcement that Tim DeRuyter has been hired away from the University of California. DeRuyter lead the Golden Bears defense to a win over the Ducks this past season in Berkeley, CA. He is reportedly has a 31-year coaching career with head coaching experience at Fresno State and DC jobs at Texas A&M, Air Force, Nevada, Ohio and Navy. He replaces Andy Avalos who accepted the head coaching position at Boise State.
