News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. On November 4, 2014, at approximately 0103 hours, Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies, Coos Bay Police and Emergency Medical Services responded to a vehicle crash near 92975 Anderson Ave, Coos Bay, Coos County, Oregon. Upon arriving they discovered a white 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier that had crashed into a ditch. The vehicle had failed to maneuver a corner and slid off the side of the road. The registered owner and driver of the vehicle, 43 year old Barrnie McClure of Coos Bay was found walking approximately a half mile away from the wrecked vehicle. Mr. McClure suffered minor injuries to his head as a result of not wearing his seat belt and bouncing his forehead off the passenger side windshield. Mast Bros. Towing recovered the vehicle from the ditch and Bay Cities Ambulance transported Mr. McClure to Bay Area Hospital. Mr. McClure was arrested for DUII (.286% BAC), but ultimately issued a citation in order to release him.
