Car observed speeding and failing to maintain lane led to a man’s arrest on a charge of DUII. On May 21st, 2023, at 7:45 p.m. Deputy R. Baker was on regular patrol in Barview when he observed a small red Nissan car speeding and crossing into the on-coming lane of travel. Deputy R. Baker conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle on Cape Arago Hwy near Miluk Road. The vehicle’s driver was identified as Heriberto Morado Ledesma (36), who showed signs of impairment. After an investigation, Heriberto was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUII) and transported to Coos Bay Police Department where a breath test revealed his Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) was .19%. (Note that the legal limit in the state of Oregon is .08%.) Heriberto was issued a citation for DUII and released to a sober adult.
