CBPD release – On October 29, 2020 at approximately 2:23 AM the Coos Bay Police responded to a report of a single vehicle crash in the 1200 block of N Front St. Callers advised the vehicle was on its side on the railroad tracks that run along the street and the vehicle appeared to be unoccupied. Officers checked the area, including a debris field of approximately three hundred feet, but were initially unable to locate the involved driver. During the investigation officers received additional information regarding the nearby location of the driver. The driver of the vehicle, located and identified as Kai Mikal Dendy of North Bend, was located within fifteen minutes of the initial call regarding the crash. Dendy was cited in lieu of custody on the charges of DUII, Reckless Driving and Failure to Perform the Duties of a Driver at an Accident. The Coos Bay Police were assisted on scene by the Oregon State Police.
