DUII Driver hits Home, Oct. 30

On Sunday, Oct 28, 2018 at about 2:00 AM, Lincoln City Police were dispatched to 1420 NW 21st Street on a report that a motor vehicle had crashed into a house at that location. When officers arrived they found a silver 2017 Ford F-350 double cab 4×4 pick-up had crashed into the front of a house causing extensive damage to the house and the front of the pick-up. The driver of the pick-up was located at the scene by the arriving officer and was identified as 49-year-old Pablo Cantu Felix of Vancouver, Washington. Mr. Felix advised officers he was not injured during the crash. During the subsequent investigation it was determined Mr. Felix had been driving southbound on NW Jetty Ave at a high rate of speed when he failed to stop for the stop sign at the intersection of NW Jetty Ave and NW 21st St. Mr. Felix drove through the intersection, and then into and through a metal guard rail barrier and a fence, before crashing into the front of a house. Based on the investigation at the scene, Mr. Felix was taken into custody on suspicion of DUII and Reckless Driving. Mr. Felix was transported to the Lincoln City Police Department where he submitted a breath sample on the Intoxilyzer machine, which showed his Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) was over two times the legal limit to be driving. Mr. Felix was subsequently transported to Newport, where he was checked at the hospital before being booked into the Lincoln County Jail on the charges of DUII, Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangering and Criminal Mischief II. Two home owners were in the house at the time of the crash, and although they were understandably upset and shaken from the incident, they were not physically injured.
