Commercial fishing vessels continue to be tied up along the Oregon Coast in protest over an opening price offered by processors for the 2017 Dungeness Crab season.  The season was slated for a New Year’s Day opener, but processors reportedly offered $2.75 lb., while crabbers wanted $3.  That amount was reportedly offered to crabbers when the season began Dec. 1, 2016 between Cape Blanco south to the California border.  However, when the rest of the coast opened the price dropped.  Deadly toxins detected in crab meat delayed the start of the regular season for ports north of Cape Blanco.
