East-West Shrine Game, Aug. 8

Make it four-in-a-row for the East in the annual East-West Shrine Football game Saturday night, Aug. 4, in Baker City.  The East won 20-8 in a come-from-behind effort to improve their lead in the overall series to 33-30-3.  The game features nominated seniors from Oregon 1A-2A-3A-4A schools.  Proceeds from the game benefit the Shrine Children’s Hospital in Portland.  From the Far West League:  Taylor Gross, So. Umpqua  Tyler Post, Marshfield; Anthony Rondeau, So. Umpqua; Johnthan Waner, So. Umpqua.  So. Umpqua Coach Steve Stebbins was on the West coaching staff.  The game can be seen on ROOT Sports Network Wednesday, Aug. 8, 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 14, 3 p.m.; Thursday, Aug. 16, 6:30 p.m.; and, Friday, Aug. 17, 2 a.m.
