News release CBFD. October 10, 2016 at approximately 6:30 am, Coos Bay Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire located at 510 13th Avenue in Eastside. Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters found the house to be fully involved. The fire was under control within a half hour. Crews remained on scene extinguishing hot spots until shortly after 9:00 a.m. No injuries have been reported. Coos Bay Fire Department is working with the Coos Bay Police Department, Oregon State Fire Marshal’s office, and Oregon State Police Arson division to determine the cause of the fire which is still under investigation. Three fire engines, a rescue vehicle, and three support vehicles along with 19 firefighters were used to extinguish the fire. Coos Bay Fire Department was assisted by Bay Cities Ambulance, Pacific Power, and Coos Bay/North Bend Water Board. Red Cross Responds to CB Fire
Disaster responders with the American Red Cross Cascades Region responded to a home fire disaster on Monday, October 10, 2016 at approximately 4 p.m. in the 500 block of 13th Ave in Coos Bay, Ore. The fire affected 2 adults and 1 pet. The Red Cross provided resources to help address the immediate basic needs of those affected such as temporary housing, food, clothing, comfort kits, information about recovery services, and health and mental health services. Additional information about this incident, if available, may be obtained from the local first responding agency/fire department.
