City of Coos Bay news release. The City of Coos Bay authorized Benny Hempstead Excavating Inc. to perform an emergency storm sewer line replacement project located near the intersection of Newmark Avenue and Ocean Blvd. Work will begin the week of December 18th to replace this failed line. Construction hours will occur from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday. There should be minimal traffic impacts from the work as the work is on private property and not in the street. The east entrance of the Nancy Devereux Center will be closed. Drivers and pedestrians are advised to please exercise caution within the construction zone.
