Empire Blvd./Wisconsin Ave. Project, Oct. 28

Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT), the City of Coos Bay and OBEC invite the community to take a close look at Empire Blvd. improvements. The project will widen the roadway section to provide bikes lanes and sidewalks on both sides of the street, and provide a covered structure at the Coos County Area Transit (CCAT) bus stop on Empire Boulevard. Street lighting, benches, and other improvements will make the boulevard more attractive and user friendly for bicycle, pedestrian and motorist usage. Public meetings will be held Oct. 28, 6 p.m., Empire Fire Station, 189 So. Wall St., and Oct. 29, 6 p.m., Dolphin Theater, 580 Newmark Ave.
