City of Coos Bay release – The recent storm even that affected the area over this past Holiday weekend damaged the docks at the Empire Boat Ramp. City staff alerted the Oregon State Marine Board (OSMB), who funded this project, and requested the design engineer inspect the docks and provide a recommendation for a path moving forward with repairs. The OSMB engineer conducted the inspection and determined the south dock system had been severely damaged and should be removed immediately. The north dock system was not damaged, but OSMB recommend it be removed next week. At this time, it is unclear how long the docks will be removed from the water.
