Empire District Shed Fire, March 13

News release Coos Bay Fire Dept.  March 8, 2017 at approximately 6:15 pm, the Coos Bay Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire located at 241 North Wall Street in the Empire District of Coos Bay.  Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters found an approximate 12’ by 20’ Storage shed on the property fully involved with fire.  Firefighters quickly knocked down the fire and had it under control within eight minutes after arriving. Crews remained on scene for another hour extinguishing embers and investigating the cause of the fire.  No injuries have been reported. After the investigation, the cause is still undetermined, but it appears to be accidental.  The property owner does not have insurance on the structure.
