CBPD release – The Coos Bay Police Department (CBPD) is investigating an explosion that damaged an Empire area business and is looking for the suspect. On June 27, 2024, at approximately 04:19 a.m., the CBPD received a report of an alarm and explosion near Orco Gunworks, 138 N Wasson St. in Coos Bay. CBPD officers responded and found that an explosion had broken out the front glass window of Orco Gunworks. A check of surveillance footage in the surrounding area revealed a male adult approaching the business from the south, placing an explosive device in the windowsill, lighting the device on fire, and then running away southbound. The CBPD is seeking information on the identity of the male suspect. Following the explosion, a vehicle may have picked up the suspect near N.
