A Christmas Tree lighting event with a special appearance by Santa Claus is set for the Empire District of Coos Bay on Saturday, Dec. 7, 5 p.m. at the Star of Hope, 657 Newmark Ave. Refreshments will be offered, music & singing, Gifts for Children and you can vote on the best Christmas Village.
