This local news brief is brought to you by Southwest Oregon Regional Airport www.flyoth.com with air service from North Bend to San Francisco.

Good Wednesday morning.  Farmer’s Market Day in downtown Coos Bay.  ‘Tis the season!  More sunshine in the forecast, not as hot as yesterday, whew!  80s in the Bay Area, wow!  70s today with sunshine and some clouds.  Winds out of the west to southwest at 10-15 mph.  Clear with some clouds tonight and lows in the mid 50s.  More of the same on Thursday.  The hot/dry weather has prompted the CFPA to increase the fire danger on the South Coast.  A Coquille male was killed in a single vehicle accident on East Beaver Hill Road.  Search is on for a missing North Bend male who happens to be a descendant of the city’s founder. OSU is offering information sessions on their Research Forest.  There is a new deputy chief of the Private Forest Division in Oregon.  Haven’t heard them yet, but F-15s are conducting night flights for the Oregon Air National Guard.  Eastside School construction update.  SWOCC looks to expand its Nursing Program.  This is right out of a crime novel/movie, murder for hire plot in Southern Oregon.  After rescuing a 10-year old boy earlier, the USCG plucked a 12-year old off a Washington Coast cliff.  Fatal accidents on Hwy. 20 & Hwy. 214.  Warrant arrest on the NBPD logs.  In sports, a Meet the Pirates Night is set for tonight at MHS.  Bulldogs went last night.  You can still signup for this year’s Prefontaine Run.  Also, signup the kids for Epuerto Soccer.  We have both prep schedules for this week for NBHS & MHS.  SWOCC volleyball gets a win in Northern California.  North Bend football ranked in the first OSAA/Coach’s Poll.  Have a great Wednesday and thank you for reading.  Feel free to share with others.   Matt
