Good Thursday morning.  Looks like the rain has slackened off for now. Forecasters are calling for sunshine today with highs in the upper 60s and winds from the north to northeast at 10-15 mph.  Partly cloudy tonight with lows in the mid 50s. Partly cloudy on Friday.  Wednesday’s rains definitely had an impact on the Farmer’s Market yesterday in downtown Coos Bay.  Only two blocks had vendors.  Need more sunshine!  Wet weather also probably attributed some what to two rollover accidents in the Bay Area yesterday.  A possible DUII driver ran into a school bus in the Hauser area yesterday.  No students on board.  Also on the Police Beat, couple of entries on the NBPD logs about lost guns. Missing person on Central Coast found, deceased.  The heavy rains also led to Health Advisories on two South Coast beaches.  Usually doesn’t last long. SAIF says it is sending millions of dollars to Coos County.  DSL has extended a Jordan Cove deadline.  North Bend Planning also has a decision about one of the Jordan Cove permits. Cargo landing fee rates on the agenda for the Coos Co. Airport Commission this morning in North Bend.  Crab Commission in Astoria today.  CHW is promoting Suicide Prevention this month.  Survey at the Mingus Park Pond.  Couple of small quakes at the Southern Junction.  Honoring fallen firefighters ceremony today.  Also, talk like a Pirate Day at NBPL.  Hatchery on Central Coast looking for volunteers.  STEP meeting in Klamath Falls.  Reduced wild bag limits on some Coastal rivers.  Draft conservation plan for Lampreys released.  South Coast Tourism meeting in Gold Beach today.  In sports, high school schedules for both NBHS & MHS today.  Marshfield soccer gets a split in Southern Oregon.  SWOCC soccer gets a split in Eugene.  Oregon State has volleyball and soccer on the schedules for today.  Didn’t make it to the new donut shop in Empire in time for their opening yesterday.  Guess they close by 3 p.m., I’ll try again with the grandson, but probably on a Saturday.  Did take him out for some frozen yogurt, however.  Wow, he can work over that sprinkle bar!  Have a great Thursday and thank you for reading.            Matt
