This local news brief is brought to you by Southwest Oregon Regional Airport www.flyoth.com with air service from North Bend to San Francisco.

Good Wednesday morning.  Weather-wise, that’s about it!  “Considerable” is the word today being shared by forecasters who call for lots of clouds and rain showers by afternoon.  Highs around 60 and winds from the South at 5-10 mph. Rain showers tonight, low in the 40s, winds still out of the south and more of the same tomorrow.  This month’s “Coos County Cops” has been posted.  When you go to my website for the rest of the news, look under publications and you’ll find the October 2019 edition.  Focus is on the USCG as a cutter wraps up a patrol off the Oregon Coast that included night flights and landings by our local USCG helicopter pilots.  Well, check it out, it is FREE and you won’t find any popups or mis-directions.  Speaking with Sheriff Zanni about CCC, he likes it and appreciates the coverage.  Especially identifying those who are criminals in our area and noting their activities.  See what you think, and thanks.  Now., today’s news, work in downtown Coos Bay might impact motorists.  Proposed rules for commercial guides at South Slough.  Despite the weather, it is a Farmer’s Market Day.  They’ve cut back on the area, but there are still some hearty souls going at it.  It is also a WBC Forum day and Senator Arnie Roblan will speak.  That will be warmer indoors at the Mill Hotel.  CBFD announces activities for Fire Prevention Month.  NBFD is doing theirs this week with the Miss Flame event at the NBHS football game Friday. Changes in SNAP benefits in Oregon.  OPRD has a bunch of rule changes coming up and have opened public comment periods.  This involves ATV, Heritage Sites, Bikes and more.  Governor’s Task Force on Outdoors on Coast today.  Sunset Beach notice, but it is for the North Coast.  Oregon Recreational Trails Advisory Council in Roseburg.  Search and arrest in Douglas Co.  Assault in Wilderville.  Female not so happy in Happy Valley following her arrest for selling Shark Fins.  Warrant arrests on the NBPD logs.  In sports, Booster clubs meet today at both MHS & NBHS sites.  Prep schedules for today.  Prep volleyball results from last night, not good for the local teams.  Prep soccer results, also a little disappointing.  SWOCC has a home women’s soccer match today.  Lots to read, and thank you for your support.  Have a good Wednesday.   Matt
