This local news brief is brought to you by Southwest Oregon Regional Airport www.flyoth.com with air service from North Bend to San Francisco.

Good Tuesday morning.  We have some sprinkles this morning along the South Oregon Coast, but forecasters predict partial clearing by afternoon.  Not that warm, about 60, and winds out of the North to Northeast at 10-20 mph.  Low tonight in the 50s and winds light and variable.  Sunshine on Wednesday, but not that warm.  In our news today, hear about the lady who jumped off the Isthmus Slough Bridge yesterday morning?  Told rescuers it was better than being on fire!  That might be a stretch for relief from a hot flash, but one can understand.  Meeting day.  North Bend City Council will talk about North Bend Sanitation and a rate increase tonight.  Ask them how the recycling program is going and what have they done locally to improve the effort.  Good luck with that one. Coos Bay Council also meets tonight, and the same rate increase question is before them.  Hope someone holds their feet to the fire.  Coos Bay Planning Commission also meets tonight.  Special election coming up in November, we have some important dates for those who wish to participate.  SWOCC is helping in the push for more elementary teaches along the Coast.  Federal funds for Specialty Crops coming to Oregon in the form of block grants.  The Teddy Roosevelt show continues this week in Oregon.  Fishing vessel runs aground on a coastal river.  Poachers dump everything along I-5 in Douglas Co.  He tried to hide her, didn’t work.  Both are in trouble with the Law.  Female was hiding in the house, now charged with burglary.  Female allegedly stole a check and attempted to cash it.  Arrested.  In sports, prep schedules for today for both NBHS & MHS, volleyball and soccer on the dockets.  Pac-12 women’s basketball coaches pick the Ducks this year.  Pac-12 football honors for players from UO & OSU.  Have  a good Tuesday and thank you for reading.   Matt
