This local news brief is brought to you by Southwest Oregon Regional Airport www.flyoth.com with air service from North Bend to San Francisco.

Good Thursday morning.  More of the same in the weather.  Sunshine, highs in the upper 50s and clear tonight with lows in the upper 30s.  Winds still out of the North to Northeast at 10-15 mph.  It is the final day of October 2019.  Just two months to go in this “New Year.”  It is also Halloween.  Watch out for the little ones at dusk.  In our news today, a warning from Coos Forest Protective Association about the dry weather and winds.  The City of Coos Bay is looking for a few good volunteers to step forward and serve on some committees.  Purple Sea Urchins are thriving along the South Oregon Coast.  We can tell you why.  CPR Course offered next month by CBFD.  NBFD has a reminder about smoke detectors.  Hit & run in Josephine Co.  Human remains found in Douglas Co. have now been identified.  VRO on the police logs.   In sports, prep schedules for both NBHS & MHS.  All league selections for Fall Sports for MHS.  Pirate boys take on BH in a soccer match.  North Bend’s cross country teams are both fourth at the District Meet.  Pac-12 Soccer has the Ducks and Beavers in action tonight.  Have a safe and fun Halloween.  My best,   Matt
