This local news brief is brought to you by Southwest Oregon Regional Airport www.flyoth.com with air service from North Bend to San Francisco.

Good Tuesday morning to you.  Good with two o’s this time.  So much for proof reading your own work!  It is a Tuesday in November and clouds in the forecast for today with highs near 60 and winds out of the North at 10-15 mph.  A few clouds tonight with lows near 40 and winds light and variable.  Mixture of clouds and sunshine on Wednesday.  In our news today,  Coos Bay City Council is looking at an amendment to its Towing of Illegal Vehicles.  Good move.  Someone needs to take a closer look at the towing practices in our area.  Some are getting away with a lot more than they should.  Right now, the governing of towing in our area is basically non-existent.  I know of several towing incidents where the party towed tried to retrieve their car the next day but no one would answer the phone.  Numerous messages were left, but no return calls.  In the mean time, they were charged a daily storage rate.  By the time he connected with the towing company, the charges were more than the vehicle was worth.  He lost his car!  That’s not right.  Maybe Coos Bay City Council’s move tonight will show some light on our towing companies practices.  Okay, get off the soap box, also in the news, Coos Bay URA meets after the Council session.  More work planned tonight and Wednesday night on Roberts Mtn., I-5, expect delays. The DEA recently had a drug take back event.  We’ve got the results for you and how Oregon compared with the rest of the West. DEA has also issued a warning about fake prescription drugs from Mexico.  Do you like Chocolate?  We have a treat for you tonight at the Coos History Museum.  The Commercial Dungeness Crab season begins next month.  Safety efforts are underway now along the Oregon Coast.  Facilities Planning Committee meets this morning for the Coos Bay School District.  Salmon & steelhead production within the Umpqua Basin the subject of a public meeting tonight in Roseburg.  OANG air traffic controllers deployed from Astoria.  A report from the Oregon Employment Dept. shows good job growth in Coos Co. in the second quarter of this year.  Small quake at Cape Mendocino earlier today.  Another Holiday Bazaar is being planned.  This one will occur at BAH in December.  Theft report on the NBPD logs.  In sports, nothing on the local prep schedule for today.  OSU women lose in basketball last night.  Hope your Tuesday is a great one!  Thank you for reading.     Matt
