Good Thursday morning.  Okay, sing it, “sunshine,”  well that gets it started.  Yes, lots of sunshine today and Friday.  However, cooler.  Highs in the mid 50s and overnight lows under clear skies in the upper 30s.  That should just about take care of the growing season for this year.  Winds are light and variable.  In our news, the Rogue River is the topic of a meeting in Grants Pass today.  The mighty Rogue!  It’s kinds of a user’s meeting for the largest waterway in Southwestern Oregon.  Well, back in the day, it was the big river within Umpqua County.  Yes, Josephine, Curry, Coos, Douglas were all in Umpqua County at one time.  Tree Board talking about trees already removed when they meet today in Coos Bay.  Seventh St. will be busy on Friday with some pothole repairs.  Motorists are advised.  Oregon Albacore Commission in Newport today to hear from Sea Grant participants and talk about marketing. Friends of the Nursery honor Caddy McKeown.  Governor honors trade leadership involving wheat.  Another nominee for historic status in Portland.  Interstate distribution of Marijuana from Oregon leads to a prison term.  CCSO has an arrest for filing a false report.  In sports, prep schedules for both MHS & NBHS.  Not too much going on.  Just transitioning from Fall to Winter sports.  Middle school girls basketball dominates the schedules.  Pac-12 VB tonight for OSU at USC.  OSU men played basketball last night and won.  OSU women play basketball today in Corvallis. Thank you for reading and have a great Thursday.    Matt
