Good Thursday morning. Sounds like a transition day for the weather. Increasing clouds, rain by Friday, highs in the 50s and lows in the 40s. Winds light and variable today, out of the South tonight at 5-10 mph, and yes, showers on Friday. In our news, a couple of quakes popped up on the map this morning impacting Oregon, one was just west of Florence. Oregon Salmon Commission meets today in Newport. Jordan Cove LNG is on their agenda. Another meeting today on the Western Oregon State Forest Management Plan. A report out of OSU indicates that deer and elk may benefit young fir seedlings in our forests. The Oregon Vesper Sparrow is better protected in Oregon because of a conservation easement project in the Willamette Valley. A local Bay Area history course will be offered this Winter again by Steve Greif. Cultural Trust Board has a new appointee. In sports, prep schedules for both NBHS & MHS. No swimming results were available from yesterday’s season opening dual between the Pirates and Bulldogs.
