Good Friday morning.  Dec 6th.  Before we forget, Dec. 7th, Saturday, a good day to remember those who lost their lives at Pearl Harbor.  Good to think for a moment about that.  And, we still have a world in conflict.  Our weather is still suppose to be changing.  However, lots of stars overhead early this morning.  Still, clouds and rain in the forecast this weekend.  Highs in the 50s and lows in the 40s.  Winds out of the Southeast.  In our news, some holiday events sprinkle into the community calendar this weekend.  That is always fun.  Don’t forget to cap your holiday experience with a trip to Shore Acres after dusk.  ODFW Commission meets in Salem today and a whole lot of discussion about fishing on their agenda and the use of snares and traps within the Siuslaw National Forest including the Oregon Dunes.   Low flow angling restrictions on South Coast rivers will be lifted as of Saturday, Dec. 7.  Salmonberry Trail meeting is today in Salem.  It’s a neat trail from Tillamook to Banks.  Follows the old rail line.  New police officers for the Oregon Coast graduate Saturday from the Academy.  New insurance agent in North Bend has long roots in the Bay Area.  BAH has a holiday craft fair today.  Santa arrives in Empire at 5 p.m.   The Coos History Museum has a holiday fair on Saturday.  Faith and politics the topic at NBPL.   World Wide Candle Lighting event shared at South Coast Hospice in Coos Bay Sunday.  Oregon Historical Society has its annual author’s book signing event in Portland.   The USCG Steadfast has returned to Port.  Wildland fire personnel from Oregon headed down under.  City of Powers without city police coverage.  Fatal on Hwy. 730.  Poaching on the North Coast. In sports, prep schedules for the weekend for both MHS & NBHS.  There is basketball.  SWOCC’s teams are out of town. Rose Bowl on the line tonight for Oregon & Utah, ABC 5 p.m.  Ducks and Beavers have basketball at home.  Seattle plays on Sunday at the  LA Rams.  Have a good weekend and feel free to share with others.  Thank you,   Matt
